Dr. Williams is double board-certified: by the American Board of Otolaryngology, the nation's second-oldest medical examining board and one of 23 boards approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties; and by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery organized in 1986, which qualifies, reviews, and certifies surgeons who perform facial and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Williams also serves as fellow of the American College of Surgeons, diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, and fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

Intense and Rigorous Education Makes the Difference in Nasal Reconstruction
Driven by a growing fascination and interest in facial trauma and reconstructive plastic surgery, Dr. Edwin F. Williams III pursued the field of rhinoplasty early in his surgical training. This earned him a fellowship with a primary focus on nasal reconstruction rhinoplasty and a reputation as a leader in the field of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Williams received a bachelor of science degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, in 1982, and his doctor of medicine degree from State University of Buffalo School of Medicine in 1986. In the following three years, Dr. Williams completed his graduate internship in surgery at SUNY Health Sciences Center in Syracuse, New York.
His intense and rigorous education goes well beyond the standard four years of medical school, plus one year of general surgery. Dr. Williams spent four additional years training for a specialty in head, neck, and facial surgery and a year of advanced subspecialty training in an academic setting.
During his five-year residency in otolaryngology – head and neck in Syracuse, Dr. Williams became thoroughly familiar with the complexities of facial plastic surgery involving the head and neck. Armed with a thirst to learn even more, he pursued a fellowship through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago, where he devoted his focus, skills, and talent entirely to cosmetic and reconstruction surgery of the nose, eyes, face, and neck.
Actively involved in lecturing and medical education concerning facial rejuvenation surgery and rhinoplasty, Dr. Williams is a respected guest speaker at national and international meetings and publishes many articles and chapters in major journals and textbooks.
